Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force carrier visits Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopter carrier Izumo and destroyer escort Murasame has made a port call in Vietnam.

The carriers with more than 600 officers and sailors on board headed by Escort Flotilla 1 commander Rear-Admiral Hiroshi Egawa docked at Cam Ranh International Airport on Friday for a 4 day visit.
The Vietnam-Japan relations and their bilateral defense ties have been consolidated to enhance mutual understanding and trust between the Vietnam People’s Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The port call contributes to deepening ties between the two countries and maintaining regional peace, stability, coopration, and joint development.
During their stay, the Japanese naval ships' commanders will pay a courtesy visit to the leaders of Khanh Hoa province and the Naval Zone 4 Command. The Japanese sailors will play sports games with the zone’s naval soldiers and participate in several community activities in Khanh Hoa.
