The consensus was reached following a meeting between New Zealand’s Trade Minister Todd McClay and Japanese Economic and Fiscal Policy Minister Nobuteru Ishihara on Monday in Tokyo. Mr. Ishihara said he hoped that Japan and New Zealand will push for TPP’s approval before the APEC Summit in Vietnam. He said a discussion on TPP in Hanoi on Sunday will be significant as the remaining partners seriously discuss the future of the TPP.
