Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made the commitment at Sunday’s meeting with Mozambique’s President Armando Guebuza in Maputo city. The money will be used to build the Nacala Corridor in north Mozambique, connecting the port of Nacala to inland districts and to neighboring countries, such as Malawi and Zambia. Mozambique is the second leg of Mr. Abe’s tour of Africa, after his visit to Cote d’Ivoire, where he committed 83 million USD of ODA for refugees in Sahel.
