The mission, consisting of 10 officials from the Foreign Ministry and the National Police Agency, is expected to work in North Korea for 4 days. They will share information with North Korean authorities and ask for a report on the fate of their citizens. The special envoy is part of an agreement between the two countries reached on September 29 in Shenyang, China. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced members of the envoy on Monday marking 10 years since the first time that Japan had sent a mission to North Korea in November, 2004.
