(VOVworld) - Top nuclear envoys from Japan, South Korea and the United States on Wednesday agreed to push for new sanctions on North Korea and exerted utmost diplomatic efforts to work out a strong and comprehensive resolution at the UN Security Council.

Hwang Joon-kook, South Korea’s special envoy for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, said North Korea had to pay for its nuclear test and ignoring the international community’s warning.
Japanese special envoy Kimihiro Ishikane expressed that he hoped the 3 countries would give a meaningful and tough message confirming that North Korea’s nuclear and missile development is unacceptable. Japan, South Korea and the United States will hold a foreign ministerial meeting in Tokyo on Saturday, in which North Korea’s issue is expected to top the agenda.
