Japan to accelerate economic recovery, rebuild external policies - ảnh 1

(VOVworld) - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe vowed in a New Year message to focus on reviving the country’s economy and reshape external policies. Mr. Abe said that Japan is in critical condition due to prolong deflation, territorial disputes with neighboring countries and slow reconstruction after disasters. The new Japanese Prime Minister admitted that his cabinet has lots to do to rebuild areas that were devastated by earthquake and tsunami in March 2011 while the dismantling of the Fukushima nuclear power plant progressed slowly and people’s lives are still affected. Mr. Abe pledged to re-develop Japan’s foreign policies amidst worsening territorial disputes with some Asian neighboring countries. Abe also said Japan will maintain a heightened level of security in response to “incidents” last year concerning airspace and territorial waters. Mr Abe added that a Committee for Economic Recovery was set up to monitor macro economic policies and steer relevant ministries to work out emergency economic stimulus packages and additional budget drafts for fiscal year 2012.
