Minister Kishi said Indo-Pacific security is increasingly unstable and stressed the importance of the roles of Japan and the US in the region.
General Berger said the two countries need to show their alliance’s power to handle issues in the Indo-Pacific region.
The two discussed issues in the East Sea (known internationally as the South China Sea) and the East China Sea, and the relocation of Futenma Air Base in Okinawa.
