(VOVworld) - Japan's Defense Ministry announced Tuesday that the Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) will hold three days of joint training exercises this month with the US and France off the western coast of Kyushu, Japan. This will be the first such three-way military drill in Japanese coastal waters. The exercises will take place this Saturday and Sunday and on May 23. Warships will also make a port call in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture. Participating vessels will include a French amphibious assault ship and a US frigate, as well as a MSDF transport ship and helicopters.
