(VOVWORLD) - The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) on Tuesday received 100 cherry blossom trees as a gift from Kairinjuku Japanese Language University.

Addressing the ceremony, VOV President Nguyen The Ky said: “Cherry blossom trees are a symbol of Japanese spirit and vitality. Over the years, cherry blossom festivals have been held in Hanoi and other localities in Vietnam, making cherry trees more familiar to Vietnamese people. As a press agency, VOV will do its utmost to boost the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership. We hope that our cooperation in economics, trade, investment, culture, and education will continue to prosper.”
Mr. Takao Toshihiko, Rector of the Kairinjuku Japanese Laguage University said he hoped for further cooperation with Vietnamese universities. He added that the gift of 100 cherry blossom trees to VOV aims to promote Japanese culture and commemorate the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations.
The cherry blossom trees will be grown at VOV’s headquarters at 58 Quan Su Street, Ha Noi, and at VOV offices in other localities. 40 trees will be given to Hung Yen province.
