Kazakhstan evacuates 16,000 people affected by the biggest floods in three decades
(VOVWORLD) - 16,000 people were rescued and evacuated on Tuesday after massive floods hit 12 regions of Kazakhstan.

The National Hydro-meteorological Service of Kazakhstan warned that waters will rise further as snow melts across the vast Kazakh steppe.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said emergency rescue operations continue in the affected regions, where approximately 16,000 people, including 6,000 children, have been evacuated.
In northern and eastern areas of Kazakhstan 50 residential areas have been cut off by the flooding.
