The state of emergency will be lifted on Thursday in the Western Kazakhstan Region, Pavlodar Region, and North Kazakhstan Region.
Kazakhstan declared a state of emergency across the country from last Wednesday in response to protests against a steep jump in fuel prices, which later escalated into riots.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has sent its peacekeeping force to Kazakhstan. Law and order were generally restored to all of the country’s regions. Kazakh President Tokayev said on Tuesday that the CSTO will withdraw its troops within the next 10 days.
