(VOVworld) – On Tuesday, the southwestern steering committee met with Khmer religious dignitary representatives and policy beneficiaries on the occasion of their Chol Chnam Thmay festival.

Committee chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh called on ethnic groups in the southwestern region and among the Khmer to enhance unity and mutual support in developing production and new rural areas as well as in preserving Vietnam’s cultural identity and fighting subversive schemes. Mr. Ninh asked the committee and relevant agencies to improve care for ethnic minorities and support disadvantaged Khmer households to celebrate their traditional festival.
