(VOVWORLD) - The third Folk Performing Arts and Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups in the Truong Son Range-Central Highlands opened on Wednesday in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province.

The opening ceremony featured a gong performance by artisans from five Central Highland provinces.
Nguyen Cong Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, “The 4-day festival will be a grand, colorful cultural celebration featuring folk singing, folk dancing, cuisine, traditional costumes, and games. I’m sure the festival will make a great impression on attendees.”
600 artisans, artists, and people from ethnic minorty groups in 19 provinces participate in the festival. |
The festival, which will continue through Saturday, will include a procession of sacred objects, folk dance performances, folk games, Central Highland gong performances, and other cultural activities.
