Kova prize acknowledges outstanding research projects
(VOVWORLD) - Three research projects by Vietnamese scientists were honored with the 2018 Kova Prize at a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday.
A project by Associate Professor Tran Thi Bich Huong of HCM city-based Cho Ray hospital has helped 60% of patients with kidney failure recover without the support of hemodialysis. Associate Professor Le Tri Dung of the HCM city Hospital for Traumatology and Orthopaedics has helped reduce 10 fold the cost of treatment with his research on limp surgery for bone cancer patients. A study by scientist Le Thi Tuyet Anh helps farmers in the central province of Phu Yen raise their income five times by growing medicinal herbs. The annual Kova Prize were initiated in 2002 by former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh and President of Kova group Nguyen Thi Hoe.
