Kremlin wants talks with Ukraine to be more active and substantive
(VOVWORLD) - The Kremlin on Tuesday said it wants ongoing talks between Russia and Ukraine to be more "active and substantive", as fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces continues. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia sent its requests to Ukraine days ago and expects a quick, practical response from Kiyv.

TASS cited Peskov as saying Russia is not looking to establish a structure that will reshape or reorganize local authority in Ukraine’s territories. The Russian defense ministry is in charge of the special military operation in Ukraine, he explained.
At a press briefing in New York on Tuesday, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called for an end to the conflict in Ukraine, saying it must be settled via peaceful means.
Russia and Ukraine are engaging in online talks about the latter’s neutral status, following rounds of in-person meetings held at the border between Belarus and Ukraine. They have not agreed on any specific issues.
