The festival will include art performances, a traditional costumes show, a food festival, traditional sports, and programs to promote attractive tourist destinations in northeastern Vietnam. 

Nguyen Phuc Ha, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, said the event is held every 3 years to promote the ethnic cultures of the northeast.
“This festival preserves and promotes the tangible and intangible heritages of the peoples of the northeastern region. It fosters cultural and socio-economic development and strengthens national security. Lang Son province is currently developing its tourism sector so that by 2025 tourism will be an important economic sector, and by 2030 it will be a spearhead economic sector. This festival is an important part of that effort,” said Ha.
