Lao Defense Ministry holds talks on Dien Bien Phu victory

(VOVWORLD) -The Lao Ministry of National Defense held talks on Thursday in Vientiane on how much the 1954 Dien Bien Phu Victory means to the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity and war alliance.

400 Lao officers, soldiers, and veterans heard the Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung briefing on major battles of the two countries’ alliance during the Dien Bien Phu campaign, both at the tactical and strategic levels.
He highlighted the great historical value and stature of the Dien Bien Phu victory in gaining national independence for Vietnam.
The Ambassador also emphasized the importance of the Dien Bien Phu victory for the Lao revolution and Laos-Vietnam relationship. He said the victory showed the great value and was a testament to the whole world of the special relationship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
