Under the leadership of the CPV, Vietnam, from a poor, backward and colonial country, has become a middle-income developing country with growing international status.
The article quoted General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong as saying that during the Doi Moi (Renewal) period, the Party led the Vietnamese people to overcome difficulties and challenges to obtain great achievements of historical significance and that Vietnam has never before had such opportunities, potential, strength, and international prestige as it has today.
