(VOVworld) -  Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh extended a New Year greeting to the Party, State and people of Laos at a ceremony celebrating Bun Pi May festival in Hanoi on Friday night.

Speaking at the event, organized by the Lao Embassy, Mr. Minh said he believes Lao people will continue to successfully implement the Resolution of the 10^th Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the 8^th five-year socio-economic development plan until 2020 to build a prosperous country. “Vietnam is always proud to have a loyal friend and a close comrade as Laos, and appreciates the Vietnam-Laos relationship in process of building and protecting its revolutionary achievements. This relationship is a bright example and a priceless asset to be passed down to future generations”, Mr. Minh said. He added Vietnam will maintain the special solidarity with Laos, and promote cooperation between the two countries.
