Laos extends condolences to Vietnam over former Party leader’s death
(VOVWORLD) - The Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee, the National Assembly, Government, and the Lao Front for National Construction’s Central Committee on October 2 extended condolences to the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, National Assembly, Government, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee over the passing of Do Muoi, former General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee.

In the message, the Lao leaders praised Mr. Do Muoi’s achievements and great contributions to Vietnam’s past struggle for national independence and current national construction and defense.
It also highlighted the contributions that Do Muoi made to the reinforcement of friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples. The passing away of Do Muoi is a loss of a close friend of the Party, State, and people of Laos, it added. The Lao side also extended deep condolences to the family of former Party leader Do Muoi.
