Laos praises border demarcation results with Vietnam

Phoukhao Phommavong, Head of the Lao delegation on Vietnam – Laos Border Demarcation, says that to date, the two countries have identified 787 positions for border demarcation 658 posts have been marked. This means 94% of the plan has been completed. At a meeting between the two countries’ Committee on Border Demarcation held in Hanoi early this week, both agreed on the identified locations, which are scheduled to be finished by 2014. Laos and Vietnam share a 2,000-kilometer border. The project will build friendship and pave the way for increased trade and investment.
