(VOVworld) – On Sunday, the Southwestern Steering Committee held a meeting of leaders and former leaders of Mekong River Delta provinces who have made great contributions to the region.

Vuong Dinh Hue, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Southwestern Steering Committee, expressed his hope that experienced leaders would continue contributing ideas to plans and measures to further develop the Mekong River Delta. The participants recommended that the government invest in developing the transportation, and irrigation systems, improve human resources, and implement synchronous policies for national minority peoples.
