Leaders attend Great National Unity Festival
(VOVWORLD) - President Vo Van Thuong underlined Vietnam's great national unity spirit, calling it a fine tradition of the nation, which helped the Vietnamese people accomplish the mission of national liberation and reunification under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Mr. Thuong was speaking at a ceremony to celebrate the Great National Unity Festival in Suoi Trai commune in the central province of Phu Yen on Saturday.
President Thuong presented gifts to outstanding educators, teachers and students in the province.
Attending the Great National Unity Festival in Hoa Hiep Bac commune in the central city of Da Nang, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said, “Promoting democracy at the grassroots level plays the crucial role in upholding the great national unity tradition."
"Grassroot democracy has been stipulated in the Party’s Platform and translated into law.”

On this occasion, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group donated 200,000 USD to help build 100 “great unity” houses in Da Nang.
The Great National Unity Festival is held in residential communities to mark the founding anniversary of the National United Front of Vietnam, November 18.
