In Ba commune in the central province of Quang Nam, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc appealed to local authorities to continue uniting and implementing social welfare, striving to reduce poverty, and promoting the cultural identities of ethnic groups.

"The local authorities need to be close to the people and listen to their aspirations in order to have proper policies. The National Great Unity Festival is of great importance for people to express their wish and aspirations," he said.

President Phuc handed over 320,000 USD to Dong Giang and Tay Giang districts to build 100 houses for people in need.

Meanwhile, joining residents of Ha Quang district at the National Great Unity Festival in the northern province of Cao Bang, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh underscored the strategic importance of unity in fulfilling the nation's potential and raising its prestige in the international arena.

“Unity is of strategic importance and a vital factor for the success of Vietnam’s revolution. Without unity and the participation of all ethnic groups, we could never have achieved what we have today,” said Mr. Chinh.

The Festival was held at the Pac Bo Special National Relic Site, where President Ho Chi Minh returned to his homeland in 1941 after 30 years abroad seeking a way to save the nation.
