Leaders of Germany, Croatia and Canada visit Ukraine
(VOVWORLD) - The president of the German parliament Baerbel Bas met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Kyiv on Sunday to commemorate victims of World War Two, discuss arms and Ukraine's consideration for European Union (EU) membership.

Bas told German newspaper Rheinische Post that she assured Zelenskiy of Germany's ongoing support for Ukraine.
President Zelensky also met in Kyiv Sunday with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic to discuss defense and energy cooperation and Ukraine's European integration. Zelensky said security issues and steps needed to support Ukraine were key topics in the talks. He thanked Croatia for supporting Ukraine on its path to European Union integration.
The same day, speaking to the press after meeting with President Zelensky, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced continued support of weapons and equipment to Ukraine. Prime Minister Trudeau added that Canada is reopening its embassy in Kyiv.
