Leading IT keen on Vietnamese market
(VOVworld)-Leading IT businesses from the Asian-Oceania Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) are interested in joining the information technology market in Vietnam, which has grown significantly and has become a regional example. Chairman Abdullah Kafi made the statement at a reception given by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Welcoming the delegates to the 2014 ASOCIO ICT Summit, the Prime Minister said the Vietnamese Government considers information and communications technology as a new development tool to increase productivity and competitiveness. The Prime Minister said he hopes the ASOCIO and ICT businesses will support Vietnam in the field in the near future. For his part, ASOCIO Chairman Abdullah Kafi said Vietnam has made remarkable progress and major breakthroughs in IT development and is a regional exemplary model in this area.
Information and technology has become a resource for national development. With what has been achieved, Vietnam can share its experience with other nations, Abdullah Kafi said while affirming his organization’s willingness to become involved in the Vietnamese IT market.
The Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) is a grouping of Information and communication technology (ICT) industry associations representing the Asian-Oceania region.
Established in 1984 in Tokyo, Japan, ASOCIO’s objective is to develop the computing society and industry across the Asia Oceania region domain by promoting trade as well as fostering relationships between its member economies. ASOCIO has created links between ICT companies and the industry’s growth in member economies.
The association represents 29 economies with more than 10,000 ICT companies and total revenues of US$350 million.
