(VOVWORLD) - Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Saturday that there is no delay in investigations into the explosions that rocked Beirut on August 4, the National News Agency reported.

"We need time to find out the truth because there exist many assumptions and possibilities. We should be very accurate in considering each assumption," Aoun said, adding that he understands people's anger and he shares with them the same feelings.
The Beirut explosion demolished a series of buildings near the port, killed at least 177 people, and injured 6,000 others.
US Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale on Saturday called for a thorough and transparent investigation. Lebanon will only receive financial support when its leaders enact reforms, he said, adding that the US has so far donated 18 million USD in relief since the blast. Hale added that Washington is ready to work with Congress on additional funds of 30 million USD to enable the flow of grain through the Port of Beirut on an urgent, interim basis.
On Saturday, Egypt sent three jets loaded with 28 tons of food and medical aid to Beirut. The aid was sent by the government and several non-governmental organisations, including Misr El-Kheir, the Egyptian Red Crescent, and Mersal.
Lebanon has also received aids from Russia, France, the UK, and China following the blast, whose damage was 15 billion USD.
