Libyan delegates select interim prime minister, presidential council
(VOVWORLD) - The Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), supported by the UN, on Friday selected Mohammad Younes Menfi as Chairman of the three-person Presidential Council, and Abdul Hamid Mohammed Dbeibah as interim Prime Minister.

75 delegates who were appointed by the UN represent different regions, tribes and political factions in Libya. They selected the new leaders in an attempt to reconstruct national institutions and guide Libya through to national elections in December. The UN said the new Presidential Council has to connect government agencies and ensure security in Libya until the elections.
