(VOVWORLD) - The 2022 VinFuture Prize Award Ceremony will begin at 8pm on Tuesday (December 20) at the Hanoi Opera House, honoring innovations for global revival and sustainable development.
The ceremony is live broadcast on VOVWORLD.VN, VOV5.VN, VTV1, and on the website of CNN, Discovery, Euronews, and Technode Global. It is also livestreamed on VOV5 ENGLISH SERVICE fanpage.
Themed “Reviving and Reshaping”, the VinFuture Prize 2022 aims to find and celebrate outstanding science and technology achievements that create positive changes following the pandemic and help foster sustainable development for people around the world.
This year, VinFuture received nearly 1,000 high-quality scientific and technological research projects from 71 countries around the world, nearly double the 599 nominations received in 2021.
A total of four prizes are awarded by the VinFuture Prize Foundation every year, consisting of the VinFuture Grand Prize valued at 3 million USD, one of the largest ever annual prizes globally. VinFuture also awards three Special Prizes, each valued at 500,000 USD, dedicated to female innovators, developing country innovators, and innovators with outstanding achievements in emerging fields.
Among the attendants at the VinFuture Prize Award Ceremony 2022 are several laureates of the Nobel Prize, the Millennium Technology Prize, and the Turing Award.
5-time Grammy winner Christina Aguilera will perform at the event alongside well-known international and Vietnamese artists like conductor Honna Tetsuji, conductor Dong Quang Vinh, violinist Bui Cong Duy, and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra.
The VinFuture Foundation is co-founded by Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong – Chairman of Vingroup, and his wife – Mrs. Pham Thu Huong – Vice-Chairwoman of Vingroup, with a mission of honoring the power of breakthrough science and technology, as well as creating meaningful change in the everyday lives of millions of people around the world.
