Close contacts with confirmed cases have been traced quickly, tested, and quarantined per regulations. Authorities of border localities have demanded border control be tightened to prevent illegal entries to/exits from Vietnam. Penalties will be imposed on law breakers.
Telegrams have been issued ordering emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Festivals, religious rites, conferences, and any kinds of gatherings of over 30 people are banned. Karaoke parlors, bars, discotheques, spas, cinemas, and online game centers were forced to shut down from Wednesday until further notice. Anyone who travels between localities is requested to fill in health declaration. Community watchdog groups have been designated. Interdisciplinary teams have been sent to companies that employ foreigners to inspect their COVID-19 counter-measures.
Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee and head of the local steering committee on COVID-19 prevention and control, said, “We are in the golden period to stamp out the pandemic. The medical sector is closely following the situation and orders immediately lockdown when necessary. There is no other way if it’s not aggressive response as we did. Health declaration is significant to the COVID-19 fight.”
