(VOVWORLD) - Hanoi has shut down all food and beverage establishments as well as hair salons and beauty parlors to contain the spread of COVID-19.

An emergency dispatch from Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh said food and beverage facilities can only provide takeaway service and city residents must halt entertainment activities, physical exercises and large gatherings in parks, gardens and public locations. People returning to Hanoi from other localities must submit medical declarations within 24 hours.

Hai Duong provincial authorities in northern Vietnam asked its localities to tighten disease prevention measures in all residential areas, villages, and streets. Disease monitoring teams are asked to closely monitor and collect test samples from anyone with fever, cough, or breathing difficulties. At midnight on Monday, social distancing was imposed in 10 wards. Companies and organizations are asked to hold meetings online and strengthen communications about the pandemic situation, disease prevention measures and the benefits of vaccination.
The northern mountainous province of Lai Chau has also strengthened its disease prevention measures, including monitoring, tracing, and collecting test samples from COVID-19 cases and anyone arriving from an epidemic-hit area.
