(VOVWORLD) - Localities across Vietnam on Wednesday tightened their COVID-19 safety measures and stepped up communications to urge people to be cautious.

The Chairman of Hanoi’s municipal People’s Committee called for strict control of vehicles arriving from pandemic-hit zones. Beginning 6 pm Wednesday, everyone arriving in Hanoi from Ho Chi Minh City or other pandemic area is required to complete a health declaration and self-quarantine for seven days per the Health Ministry’s guidelines.
The Hai Phong municipal People’s Committee imposed a 21-day centralized quarantine for anyone arriving from Ho Chi Minh city, beginning 12 noon Wednesday. From noon Thursday, Hai Phong will only allow persons who have tested negative for COVID within five days to enter the city.

In Hai Duong province, authorities have stepped up communications, encouraging people to keep their guard up. Visitors to Hai Duong are asked to report all their movements until they leave. Monitoring and quarantining individuals coming from pandemic areas is being strictly enforced.
A field hospital and a treatment committee have been set up in Vinh Long province to deal with an infection uptick. The 50-bed hospital in Hoa Phu is all set for treatment and isolation of COVID-19 patients and their close contacts.
