(VOVworld) – Eight Libyan pro-government fighters and at least 10 Islamic State group jihadists died in clashes on Sunday, as some IS jihadists tried to flee their besieged stronghold.

Pro-government forces said they were “progressing” in Sirte, where they have surrounded IS militants, prompting them to try to escape. The pro-government fighters recovered the bodies of at least 10 jihadists and were chasing another group escaping from Sirte, 450 kilometers east of the capital Tripoli.
