Medvedev re-elected chairman of Russia's ruling party

- Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Sunday was re-elected as Chairman
of the ruling United Russia party for another five-year term.

According to the
party rules, the Chairman of the party doesn’t need to be a member of the party. Established in 2001, the United Russia party now
controls 343 of the 450 seats in the State Duma, the lower house of parliament,
after a sweeping victory in last September’s elections.
