Chairing the meeting, Minister of Public Security To Lam called for efforts to build a clean, strong, revolutionary, elite, and professional police force to achieve the goal of safeguarding Vietnam. He also urged the force to uphold its heroic tradition, study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and lifestyle, be closer to the people, the People’s Army, and other agencies.

Also on Friday, Lao Minister of Public Security Somkeo Silavong, authorised by the President, awarded the Development Order, first class, to Vietnam’s Public Security Ministry and its leader for contributions to ensuring safety for the political events in Laos in 2016, particularly the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summit.
