Meeting marks 83rd anniversary of Vietnam National United Front

(VOVworld) – A meeting to mark the 83rd anniversary of the Vietnam National United Front took place on Monday in Hanoi.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan, said that over the past 83 years, the committee had always fulfilled its tasks of uniting national forces for independence and freedom and making great contributions to the national revolutionary cause. Mr. Nhan said: "Solidarity has long been a valuable tradition of the Vietnamese people, nurtured during national construction and defence and in the era of Ho Chi Minh. This tradition has developed even further since the foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The establishment, development and great contribution of the Vietnam National United Front over the years have further highlighted the tradition of the Vietnamese people and the belief of the importance of unity held by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh".

Mr. Nhan affirmed that in the context of industrialization and modernization, the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front would continue to be enhanced in political and social life. The relations between the Front and the people are vital for national unity in the cause of national construction and defence.
