At a meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, China, Mister Malcolm Turnbull and British Prime Minister Theresa May agreed to support each other after the Brexit vote.
In another meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and South Korean President Park Geun-hye, Mr. Xi said China was committed to maintaining peace and security on the Korean peninsula as well as resolving issues through dialogue and consultations. Mr. Xi also urged the resumption of six-party talks on North Korea’s nuclear issues. Ms. Park Geun-hye said North Korea’s fourth consecutive firing of ballistic missiles threatened stability and peace in northeastern Asia.
At a meeting on the same day in Hangzhou with Span’s Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, President Xi Jinping expressed his desire to raise the strategic partnership, saying that the two countries can continue cooperating in various fields such as finance, telecommunication, renewable energy, and supporting each other based on competitive advantages. Prime Minister Rajoy said Spain would work with China to exploit the potentials of trade and investment and enhance cultural and educational exchanges.
Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Brazilian President Michel Temer also met and discussed a number of issues, including economic recession in Brazil and its experiences of organizing the Olympics 2016 as Tokyo will host the Olympics in 2020.
