Mekong-Japan cooperation supports economic recovery in member countries
(VOVWORLD) - The 13th Mekong - Japan Ministerial Meeting held online Thursday was hosted by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs Toshimitsu Motegi.

The meeting discussed Mekong-Japan cooperation in fighting COVID-19 and ways to restore the economies in the post-pandemic period. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh stressed the importance of taking a comprehensive approach to respond to the disease while restoring the economies. Mr. Minh said that strengthening Mekong-Japan cooperation can help member countries revive their economies through restoring regional supply chains, stimulating consumption, and strengthening the capacity of the health care system.
