Various cultural activities will be held to recall the memories of the important date in the history of the capital city. On October 10, 1954, Hanoi was liberated from French colonial rule, beginning a new era for the country.
The program commemorates the 65th anniversary of Liberation Day and 20 years since UNESCO recognized Hanoi as the City for Peace. Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa, a local resident who participated in the program, said: “I’m very moved, happy, and proud to participate in this program. I played the role of a character that joined the liberation troops 65 years ago following Uncle Ho’s appeal to save the country.”
The program attracted special attention from foreign visitors.
