At Hanoi-based Natural Sciences School for Gifted Students, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged the school’s teachers and students to work hard to maintain their top position as Vietnam’s educational establishment with the most medals and awards at international Olympiads.

PM Pham Minh Chinh addresses the opening ceremony of the new academic year at Doan Thi Diem primary school in Hanoi.

At Doan Thi Diem primary school, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said, "Educating and nurturing children is a special job, which requires profound knowledge, patience, compassion, tolerance, empathy, and kindness. We must ensure that every school day is a happy day for children.”

This school year, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue has spent 17 million USD upgrading educational facilities. 

“We will introduce reformed teaching methods which include digital transformation and IT application, and promote education on traditions,” Nguyen Tan, Director of the provincial Department of Education and Training, said. 

In the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, greater focus will be placed on ethnic minority students who account for more than half of the province’s students. 

“We aim to ensure that all high school students will pass the final exams and our students will participate in competitions for outstanding students at all levels. Priority will be given to boarding schools for ethnic minority students,” said Bui Xuan Le, Headmaster of No Trang Long boarding high school.

The Mekong Delta city of Can Tho is providing scholarships until 2026 for students orphaned by COVID-19, according to Tran Thanh Binh,  Director of the municipal Department of Education and Training.

“We will also provide 1,000 health insurance cards and bikes to disadvantaged students, particularly those in remote areas,” said Binh.
