Ministry of Health suspports Nano Covax trial in provinces, cities
(VOVWORLD) - The National Ethics Committee in Biomedical Research under the Ministry of Health on Saturday held an urgent online meeting to review the results of the first phase of clinical trials of Vietnam’s domestically developed COVID-19 vaccine, Nano Covax, and to pass the mid-term assessment of its second phase.

Addressing the meeting, the Ministry of Health’s representative said they supported the participation of provinces and cities in Nano Covax trial.
This is Vietnam's first COVID-19 vaccine to be tested on humans in the third phase, the final stage.
The Ministry agreed with the Chairman of the National Ethics Committee on the immediate establishment of a team to support, analyze, evaluate, and monitor the data and processes by the two agencies involved in clinical trials and to make reports by August 14.
The Ministry of Health has proposed the Military Medical Academy, the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, and the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology cooperate with the vaccine manufacturer to send a report of the third phase early this week for evaluation based on which experts will recommend urgent next steps.
The Ministry also proposed an additional study on the third dose of Nano Covax vaccine to cover new coronavirus variants like Delta.
