Hai highlighted the project’s contribution to community development and said there are only 50 wastewater treatment plants in Vietnam with 26 more under construction, meeting only 22% of the total demand for domestic wastewater treatment. The Tu Son plant, which will have a capacity of 33,000 m3 per day, will cost 36 million USD in the first phase and will serve approximately 100,000 people. In the second phase of the project, the plant's capacity will be raised to 70,000m3 per day at a total cost of roughly 54 million USD. The project is underwritten by the Phu Dien Construction Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company and the SFC Vietnam Environment Investment and Development Joint Stock Company using the build-transfer model.
