(VOVworld) – A workshop took place in Can Tho City on Sunday to develop links between the state, scientists, entrepreneurs, and farmers, create value chains, and support the investment and application of science and technology for agriculture in the Mekong Delta.
Participants proposed measures to clear obstacles to developing science and technology, to increase information dissemination and state-of-the-art techniques in husbandry and farming and build brands and market access solutions for agricultural businesses.
Covering an area of 3 million ha of natural land for farming and aquaculture, the Mekong Delta contributes 90% of Vietnam’s annual rice exports, 52% of its aquatic products, and 70% of its fruit yield.
