“Morocco Gate” opens to symbolize Vietnam-Morocco friendship, solidarity
(VOVWORLD) - “Morocco Gate” has opened as a symbol of Vietnam Morocco friendship solidarity.
The “Morocco Gate” in Ba Vi district, Hanoi, is a beautiful monument built between 1956 and 1960 by Moroccan soldiers who left the French army and join Viet Minh in the Indochina war. The gate was built with Vietnamese materials, inspired by the Moorish architectural style of Moroccan imperial cities. Speaking in the opening ceremony on Saturday, Moroccan Ambassador Azzeddine Farhane, said the Morocco Gate represent common values between Vietnam and Morocco, especially a message of peace by President Ho Chi Minh.
“This historical and cultural relic is a part of the collective domain of historical heritage that Morocco and Vietnam have in common, especially our aspiration for peace and international security as well as political and economic positions. Both countries are heading towards a bright future and promising cooperation,” said the Ambassador.
