Most beautiful hamlet in Dak Lak recognized as province’s first community tourism model
(VOVWORLD) - Ako Dhong, the most beautiful hamlet in Dak Lak, has been recognized as the first community tourism hamlet in the Central Highlands province. A ceremony to announce the recognition was held on Thursday.
Ako Dhong hamlet, inhabited by the Ede ethnic minority, was established 60 years ago and boasts a number of traditional long houses and luxuriant vegetation and flowers.
Villagers still preserve the gong culture and traditional crafts such as brocade weaving and straw liquor distillation.
“We are offering many incentives to help ethic minorities preserve their culture and create unique tourism products. The ultimate goal is to promote sustainable tourism development,” said Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
