Mourning for former Party leader Le Kha Phieu held overseas
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Permanent Mission to the UN on Friday held a ceremony to mourn former Party leader Le Kha Phieu and open a digital condolence book for Vietnamese people in New York, countries’ representatives, and local authorities, to deliver their condolences. The ceremony will run until August 17.

On Friday, the Vietnamese Embassy in the US solemnly organized a ceremony to mourn former Party leader Le Kha Phieu. Condolences were sent from representatives of authority organizations, US Congress, and diplomatic missions, business associations, non-governmental organizations, and Vietnamese people in Washington DC. Reed Werner, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, expressed appreciation for former Party leader Le Kha Phieu, saying he helped direct Vietnam-US defense ties since the two countries normalized their relationship. Congressman Ted Yoho of Florida praised Mr. Phieu’s contribution to bilateral ties.
