Multiple activities underway to celebrate Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day

(VOVWORLD) - A wide range of cultural and arts activities will take place in Hanoi from April 17 to 20 in celebration of Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day.

More than 300 artisans and representatives from all 54 ethnic groups nationwide will participate in this event at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village in Son Tay town. Highlights include a recreation of the Chol ChnamThmay New Year festival of the Khmer people in Soc Trang province, a cultural space showcasing the unique traditions of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, a reenactment of the maturity ceremony of the Ede people, and demonstrations of Central Highlands coffee culture.

An exchange program called “Highland Colors” will be held, featuring traditional musical instruments, folk songs, dances, and performances of Tho ethnic folk arts from Thanh Hoa province.

Visitors will also learn more about the daily life, rituals, traditional attire, cuisine, handicrafts, and folk games representing the diverse cultural identities of 16 ethnic groups residing at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village.
