Vietnam, Ethiopia turn a new page of friendship and cooperation

(VOVWORLD) -President Luong Cuong on Wednesday met Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali who is paying an official visit to Vietnam and attending the 4th Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit.

The President congratulated the Ethiopian Prime Minister on his successful meetings and talks with Party General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. He said he believes that this official visit would turn a new page of more substantive and effective friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Ethiopia.

PM Abiy, for his part, stressed that Vietnam has been a trustworthy friend of the Ethiopian people and his visit demonstrates Ethiopia's determination to strengthen and develop multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.

The two leaders agreed to bolster coordination, cooperation, and mutual support at multilateral forums, especially at the UN and developing countries' forums, while promoting relations with important organizations where they are members, such as ASEAN and the African Union.

On Wednesday evening, meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the Prime Minister's visit is an important milestone, not only affirming the commitment of the two countries to further deepening bilateral relations, but also opening up new opportunities to boost cooperation in economy, trade, agriculture, education and sustainable development.

The Prime Minister said he is impressed by Vietnam’s political stability and socio-economic achievements, as well as its role and position in the international arena.
