(VOVworld) – On Thursday, an Egyptian court sentenced to death Mohamed Badei, a top leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, and 13 of the group's leading members for inciting violence outside a mosque in Giza which killed 10 people and wounded 20.

The verdict was referred to the Grand Mufti, the country's highest Islamic official. A final verdict is expected by the end of August. Badei was previously sentenced to death in April and again in June.
The same day, an Upper Egypt Sohag Court sentenced 20 Muslim Brotherhood members to life imprisonment for inciting violence, assaulting state institutions, crippling public transportation, and causing public disorder.
