NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue meets with Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his pleasure at the important achievements and shared perceptions that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping achieved during Tuesday meeting as the two sides agreed to build a "Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance."

At a meeting with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of China Xi Jinping, on Wednesday, Chairman Hue proposed that the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China maintain and further strengthen exchanges and contacts at high levels and at all levels, specialized committees, and Friendship Parliamentary Groups; continue to promote its important role in building an open and favorable legal and policy corridor; promote economic and trade cooperation for balanced and sustainable development, especially importing more agricultural and aquatic goods from Vietnam.
Hue also proposed that the two sides strengthen coordination at international and regional inter-parliamentary forums; support each other in hosting international forums and conferences; push responsible agencies of the two countries to properly control and handle differences in accordance with high-level agreements, shared perceptions and international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
Xi applauded the achievements and continuous innovations of the Vietnamese National Assembly as well as the results of cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the National People's Congress of China in recent years.
He noted that high-level exchanges and contacts at all levels of the two legislative bodies are maintained, coordination at multilateral mechanisms takes place regularly, making the relationship between the two legislative bodies become an important part of the overall relationship between the two countries.
